Spatial framework for urban plan, The Netherlands

Date: February 202

Client: MR.STIR Architect + Planner

Reason: town expansion

Project status: unkown

An assignment by the local municipality was set to create a spatial framework for redevelopment in this area, the framework will be used for the creation of a new urban expansion plan. The project area was surrounded by some historical farmhouses. Limiting the development a large electricity grid in the near vicinity diminished the buildable land by 25%.  For the framework, two drafts of possible plans were addressed. One with the possibility of future expansion and one limiting the expansion to the current project area. Within the framework, several rules of design were set such as building height, ridge height, pavement styles, and diversity of brickwork.
